What is your Purpose? Is Gross National Happiness Actually Measurable?

Sharing some private thoughts

I have been thinking a lot recently and also talking to friends. The upshot of all this is the following….. We all need a certain amount of money and material things in our life, otherwise we aren’t going to be happy or able to do the things we would like.

But once this is covered what then? If we continue to focus on accumulating wealth, and this is not our Purpose‘flow’ then we won’t find it easy and it won’t make us happy. In order to be truly happy we need to always be in alignment with our higher purpose – that is, what we are really put on this earth for.

Most people don’t know what that is. I’m curious – do you?

What if it were surprisingly simple? Would most people dismiss it because finding one’s higher purpose should be difficult and take a long time? The key is to be aware of how you feel. Are you happy in your job? If yes then you are supposed to be doing it. If no then you are not supposed to be doing it. You can’t get much simpler than that – following how you feel.

Mike dooley For many years my purpose was to help as many people around the world create wealth in their lives through financial education.

I couldn’t wait to get up in the mornings and all I thought about was how I could reach as many people as possible with my message – and that message was to share what I knew about how to trade. I wanted to teach everyone what I had taken so long to learn, and make it easy for them, so they could have the success that I experienced. So that’s how I found the motivation and drive to go through my day.

As TUT (amazing daily words from Mike Dooley, do subscribe) says “Marcus, it’s supposed to be easy” (and I would add, fun). But recently I haven’t been feeling that way and I couldn’t put my finger on why. Talking it through with my friends, I realised that one of the reasons is because I have allowed my focus to be on growing the business. Many of you who have your own businesses, and are creatives, entrepreneurs or technicians, will know that holding it together can be tough, boring, frustrating, draining – but necessary.

People business It is all about marketing and stats and getting the most out of the team etc. – all text book stuff. For me it seems a million miles away from my purpose, and my flow……… Doing those tasks every day - just doesn’t make me happy.I know that there are a lot of great business managers out there and it works for them – it doesn’t work for me. But at least I know this, and I can do something about it.

Enough Is Enough? When?

Money duck.htm Another thought – when is enough enough? Simply putting £5 – £50 million as your goal is completely missing the point. But doing what we love to do is absolutely the point. And by the way  - you have more chance of making that £5 – £50 million, if that really was ever your true goal, by doing what you love. That’s where the seeds of greatness lie.

How To Measure Happiness & Success

One country, Bhutan, declared in 1972 that it was going to measure its success not by its GDP (Gross Bhutan Domestic Product - it’s overall economic output) but by how much it’s citizens were happy and fulfilled as GNH (Gross National Happiness). How about that for a concept.

I realise that the stage I am in is part of my own personal growth and the key is to recalibrate and seek out my new higher purpose, or better still, decide what it is. I feel that it has something to do with helping more people.

I’ll keep you posted and I’d welcome your comments, too.

Talking of personal growth – have you seen what Tony Robbins has been up to recently? He has a programme on NBC Channel, (which you can see on You Tube) called Breakthrough. If you are feeling that you need some inspiration watch it. Its amazing. Tony at his best, and that man can inspire.

Trading Water with Buffalos – a perfect combination?

Buffalo Trading is going well  - for me and for the team. As you might know by now, I love to trade US water companies because their stock chart movement is so  predictable and follows my Buffalo Strategy perfectly.

The reason for this in my opinion is because they aren’t going to make or lose a lot of customers and have a bit of a monopoly going. The two trades I am in right now are CWT and AWR, looking to make at least 10% on both those trades within the next few weeks. We have made 4 x 10% trades on AWR this year already and recently discovered CWT.

If you want to know why and how we do it, then join us at our 1 day event. As an experiment we are holding one in August for those people who are too busy most of the year but have some holiday time in August. It is your chance to meet the team of traders and get your questions answered.

Here’s what one client, Steve Slimm said about spending time with our Head Trader, Paul Harrison.

Since the breakthrough, I have made some decisive committments toward securing my financial future, something I have shied away from for years…. I feel certain that I can add material wealth to my already rich and varied life!”

Until next time
